Cutting Polypropylene

I’ve just started testing the best settings for a variety of materials and have found the material database to be very useful.

However, I’d like to try cutting some shapes from a thin sheet of 1mm polypropylene-has anyone had any success with material please ? if so what colours and settings did you use ?

We use black polypropylene quite a bit in production.

Our material is approximately 0.8mm thick. We use 250mm/min and 100% power to cut. The air-assist also makes a big difference.

Please note that PP produces a lot of fumes. Lens cleaning will be important if you work with this material a great deal.

It also produces very dense fumes which tends to clog up the activated carbon filters very quickly, if you have a Fume Filtration System. I would recommend venting this outdoors.
